A Letter from the Headteacher

Dear Parents,

At Handsworth Christian School we believe that every pupil is unique and has their own specific educational needs. We guarantee never to have more than 17 pupils in a form group (though most classes are substantially smaller).

The school has a strong community atmosphere where everybody knows everyone else. Here at Handsworth Christian School, every child is treated as an individual – not a statistic. The statistics are very favourable though: for the last three years in a row, our GCSE examination results are the best of any non-selective school in the city.

We can cater for around 120 pupils at the school, aged from 4 to 16. In this small-scale environment, our excellent team of staff can give a great deal of individual attention and notice very quickly when a pupil is not working to their full potential. That is the basis of our reputation for academic excellence, but as a Christian school we also have a responsibility to help each child to develop emotionally and spiritually.

Like any school, we have our strengths and weaknesses. We know it’s important that you make the right decision for your child – whether that is here with us or not. If you do decide to join us, you can be sure that you and your child will be welcomed into a secure and friendly Christian environment.

If you would like to find out more about our school and I would be delighted to meet with you and show you around.  Please use the Contact Us section or telephone us on 0114 243 0 276. We look forward to hearing from you.

Yours faithfully,

Tony Swift
