School history

Handsworth Christian School opened in September 1986 and we celebrate our 20th anniversary in 2006. The school opened with just 9 pupils and 3 teachers, and has steadily grown to cater for approximately 140 pupils.

During that time, many improvements have been made to the buildings and the grounds. Having purchased the land on which the school is situated, it is now far easier for us to make a difference to the quality of the school environment.

The main school building was originally a factory, and has undergone major renovation . The addition of portable buildings enabled us to have a purpose-built laboratory for Science teaching. Security has improved with the installation of fencing around the school grounds. The playground has been improved and we now have a full ICT suite for computing. Further improvements will be taking place.
